My Morning Routine

I wanted to share my morning routine and how it’s been supporting me in my everyday life. I’ll start by saying this: not every morning looks the same. Life happens. Schedules change. Some days are busier than others. But I do my best to stay consistent and create a rhythm that helps me move through my days feeling happier, healthier, and lighter.

These habits don’t exist in isolation. They naturally support everything else that follows during the day, like eating nourishing foods, getting outside for a walk or a hike, working, and simply feeling more present in my life.

My morning routine is divided into five parts, but in reality, they’re all interconnected. If you feel inspired to recreate something similar, know that there’s no “right” order. You get to decide what comes first and what comes next.

  1. I usually wake up somewhere between 5:30 and 6:30am. I love waking up before everything else starts, it makes me feel like the day is truly mine. There’s something really special about being awake while the world is still quiet. I try not to check social media when I wake up (emphasis on try, because work sometimes makes it tricky). But I’ve noticed such a difference in my mood when I don’t start my day comparing myself to others. It really sets the tone.

  2. The very first thing I do is turn on my coffee machine (yes, I’ve been a coffee lover since I was 13). It’s honestly my favorite moment of the day, because of the smell, the warmth, the coziness. After that, I take my supplements. I have real gut issues, so this part is non-negotiable for me. Everything I take is natural, and it genuinely helps me function better. Then I sit down, and this is where the magic happens.

  3. I journal for at least an hour. I write whatever comes to my mind. When I first started, months ago, it felt hard and awkward. Now, it’s a necessity. My brain holds so much, and writing is the only way I know how to free it. Some mornings, I don’t feel inspired at all, so I draw instead. Just enough to activate my creative side.I write about everything. I ask myself questions, and I respond and reflect. Conversing with myself through writing has become my most powerful tool for self-growth. It’s deeply meditative and grounding for me. I usually prefer doing more traditional meditation at night.

  4. After journaling, I read for about 15–20 minutes, usually one chapter of the book I’m currently reading. It helps me stay focused and inspired before the day really begins.

  5. Then comes movement. I’ll do a mat Pilates workout for about 30 to 45 minutes. I love the Peach Club platform because it’s so accessible, I can work out from my living room, and it’s incredibly effective. I need movement before starting any daily tasks, otherwise I feel sleepy, even after coffee. The classes are hard, but I love them so much. Rolling out my mat and sweating feels like a celebration of my body, seriously! After that, I shower, and then the day is mine.

Yes, this routine takes time. And yes, I do have that time. But I truly believe we all do. It’s about choosing how we want to use it. Even five minutes of self-care is better than none. And if you think you don’t have five minutes, chances are you do. We all find time to scroll for five minutes on Instagram.

Five minutes spent doing something for your mind or body will always give you more than five minutes of scrolling.

I hope this inspires you to create a routine that feels good for you.
It doesn’t need to look like mine, it just needs to support the life you want to live! :)

With love and light,

Maude
